Accenture: to collaborate with Snam on energy networks
(CercleFinance.com) - Consulting giant Accenture said on Wednesday that it has entered into an collaboration agreement with Italian gas pipeline operator Snam.
The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to study solutions based on Internet of Things (IOT) technologies to boost innovation and sustainability of energy networks, they said.
Accenture and Snam will research solutions for internet-connected devices and other technologies - such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, edge and fog computing and advanced analytics - to optimize the monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure.
Snam has the largest gas transmission network and storage capacity in Europe.
The move comes as part of Snam's plan that calls for investments of over 1.4 billion euros in innovation and energy transition by 2023.
