TechnipFMC: signs a 'major' contract in Vietnam
(CercleFinance.com) - TechnipFMC has won a "major" contract by which it will build the largest olefin plant (which includes ethylene, propylene, etc.
) in Vietnam on behalf of the Long Son Petrochemicals group, to meet local demand.
Designed as a flexible steam cracker, the olefins production unit can operate from both naphtha and LPG to produce up to 1.6 million tonnes of olefins per year, the oil services group said.
The financial terms of the deal have not been specified, although it is worth between 500 million and one billion dollars (group share). It will be executed by a consortium led by TechnipFMC, including the South Korean SK Engineering & Construction.
