Compass: shares little changed after CEO death
(CercleFinance.com) - Shares in food services group Compass were little changed on Tuesday after its CEO Richard Cousins died in a plane accident in Australia on 31 December.
"We are deeply shocked and saddened by this terrible news," said the company's chairman Paul Walsh in a statement issued this morning.
"Richard was known and respected for his great humanity and a no-nonsense style that transformed Compass into one of Britain's leading companies," he said.
The Compass stock was down 0.2% at 1,596 pence in early-morning trading. The shares rose 8.4% last year.
Compass said Dominic Blakemore's appointment as chief executive will be advanced from 1 April to 1 January. Richard Cousins planned to retire was planned on 31 March.
