easyJet: raises year profit guidance on strong demand
(CercleFinance.com) - Shares in easyJet rose by over 2% on Wednesday after the British low-cost airline delivered a strong trading performance for the third quarter, due to "robust customer demand".
The company said total revenue in the third quarter to 30 June 2018 increased by 14% to 1.6 billion pounds, with passenger numbers increasing by 9.3% to 24.4 million.
As a result, easyJet raised its guidance for full-year headline profit before tax for the 2018 financial year to between 550 million and 590 million pounds, up from previous guidance of 530 million to 580 million pounds.
