easyJet: passenger traffic up 9.6% in 2017

(CercleFinance.com) - Low-cost airline easyJet carried 9.
6% more passengers in 2017 than in 2016, despite a slowdown in passenger statistics over the last month of the year.

The airline carried 81.6 million passengers last year, up from the 74.5 million it flew the previous year, while its load factor - a measure of how well a company fills its planes - rose 1.6 percentage point to 93%.

In December, the budget airline carried in 5.5% more passengers than it did in the same month a year earlier, with its load factor up 1.5 point at 91.4%.

Shares in easyJet, which have risen over 50% in 2017, are up 0.7% at 1,520.7 pence, valuing the airline at around 6 billion pounds.
