easyJet: benefits from bankruptcy of Monarch Airlines.
(CercleFinance.com) - Low cost airlines have won the battle.
Monarch Airlines, one of Britain's oldest airlines, has announced that it will cease its operations.
As a result, all of this company's scheduled flights have of course been cancelled, which has directly affected some 110,000 passengers who had made at least one reservation.
A substantial proportion of these passengers should logically now fly with easyJet, one of Monarch's competitors, whose share is currently up 4.8% in London, the top riser in the Footsie 100 today.
