Dixons Carphone: revenue growth led by international

(CercleFinance.com) - Dixons Carphone, the British electrical goods and mobile phone retailer, reported 4% like-for-like sales growth over the 12 months ended 28 April, led by strong growth at its international markets.


The group, which owns 1,103 Dixons and Carphone stores in the UK and Ireland, said UK like-for-like sales rose 2% in the past fiscal year.

The company - whose brands also include Elgiganten in the Nordic countries, and Kotsovolos in Greece - reported "strong growth" in its international markets, as the Nordics posted like-for-like revenue up 9% and Greece like-for-like revenue up 11%.

For the 12 months to April, the retailer posted pre-tax profit of 382 million pounds, compared to 500 million pounds.

Dixons Carphone said 2018/2019 headline profit before tax was expected to be around 300 million pounds.

Its shares are currently up 1.9% at 194.3 pence, making it one of the biggest risers on London's midcap index, the FTSE 250.
