Reckitt Benckiser: sales soar on disinfectant brands
(CercleFinance.com) - Reckitt Benckiser shares rose almost 3% on Tuesday, after the consumer goods company reported strong quarterly results, with consumers' buying of disinfectants in the fight against coronavirus.
The British maker of Finish dishwasher tablets and Nurofen painkillers said that like-for-like sales rose by 13.3% to 3.5 billion pounds over the quarter.
Performance was led by an increase in hygiene and health volumes, in particular driven by disinfectant brands such as Lysol, the company said in a statement.
RB said that like-for-like net revenue is now expected to grow "low double digits" this year, up from "high single digit" previously.
