Anglo American: agrees to acquire Sirius Minerals
(CercleFinance.com) - Anglo American announces an agreement to launch a recommended tender offer for Sirius Minerals shares at a price of 5.
50 pence each, for a total layout of approximately 404.9 million pounds.
The mining giant, originally from South Africa is highlighting a polyhalite project in North Yorkshire developed by Sirius, which it believes has the potential to become a world class asset, at a low cost and with a long lifespan.
This acquisition remains subject to certain conditions, including the green light from the competent regulatory authorities. Anglo American and Sirius intend to enter into constructive discussions with stakeholders involved.
