LSE: names ex Goldman Sachs executive as new CEO

(CercleFinance.com) - The London Stock Exchange Group announced on Friday the appointment of Goldman Sachs' David Schwimmer as chief executive officer.

The banker will join the British-based stock exchange operator in August and will be a member of the board of directors, the group said.

At Goldman Sachs, David Schwimmer, 49, was most recently global head of market structure and head of metals and mining in investment banking. He has worked for the bank for twenty years.

His appointment follows the departure of Xavier Rolet, who stepped down as London Stock Exchange CEO in November 2017.

David Warren, who has been acting as interim CEO since then, will resume his role as the group's CFO and board member.
