Shell: MoU with Seeing Machines
(CercleFinance.com) - Australia's Seeing Machines announced on Monday that it has signed a global memorandum of understanding with Shell to supply its automated driving systems.
The energy company plans to use "Guardian", the driver monitoring technology developed by Seeing Machines, to ensure a driver's attention and identify any drowsiness or distraction.
The agreement comes at a time when Shell's drivers and contractors are driving around 500 million kilometres a year.
Given Shell's size, Seeing Machines expects the roll-out - which is due to start this year - to take several years.
