Shell: to offer shareholders US dollar dividend option
(CercleFinance.com) - Royal Dutch Shell will offer shareholders the option to receive dividend in US dollars, it said on Wednesday, after it announced that it would move to full electronic settlement for its dividends.
As from its fourth-quarter dividend this year, shareholders can choose to receive their dividend in US dollars, the oil giant said.
Dividends on A and B shares will be paid in euros and pounds sterling respectively, unless shareholders decide to receive another currency.
From the fourth quarter, shareholders that hold their shares in dematerialised form, will receive their dividends primarily in automated payment (CREST), Shell added.
