Kingfisher: buys French platform NeedHelp

(CercleFinance.com) - Kingfisher, Europe's largest DIY retailer, said on Wednesday that it has acquired NeedHelp, a French online platform that connects customers who need help with home improvements with professionals, for a price of about 10 million euros.

NeedHelp was founded in France in 2014 by Guillaume de Kergariou, who will continue as the unit's CEO, the British retail group said in a statement.

While most of its business is currently in France, NeedHelp also operates in Switzerland and has recently expanded into Germany, Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands.

Kingfisher said NeedHelp already provides its services to customers in over 500 of its French Castorama and Brico Depot stores.

NeedHelp is growing rapidly, with the firm tripling its revenue every year since its launch.
