Barclays: names two new board members

(CercleFinance.com) - Barclays has appointed Dawn Fitzpatrick, Soros fund's new chief, and Mohamed El-Erian, the chief economic adviser of Allianz, as non-executive directors, the British banking group said on Thursday.

Dawn Fitzpatrick is currently chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management, where she oversees approximately 25 billion dollars under management. Prior to joining Soros fund, she spent 25 years at UBS.

El-Erian is chief economic adviser at Allianz, the corporate parent of Pimco, where he served as chief executive and co-chief investment officer between 2007 and 2014. He is also a columnist for Bloomberg and a contributing editor at the Financial Times.

While Fitzpatrick already joined the board effective 25 September, El-Erian will join as of 1 January 2020.
