Barclays: unit CEO leaves in latest shake-up

(CercleFinance.com) - Barclays announced on Wednesday the departure of Tim Throsby, the CEO of its Barclays International and Barclays Bank units, as part of broader leadership changes.

This means that group CEO Jes Staley will now take the role of interim CEO of Barclays Bank and Barclays International, the legal entity which houses all of the group's non-ring fenced businesses.

Throsby joined Barclays in January 2017.

The changes - intended to help the group capitalise on its strengths as a diversified consumer and wholesale bank - have also been marked by promotions at the bank's global consumer banking and payments and global wholesale banking.
