M&S: completes purchase of Linde's cold storage subsidiary
(CercleFinance.com) - Linde announced on Friday that it has completed the sale of Gist Limited, its refrigeration logistics subsidiary in the UK and Ireland, to the British retailer Marks & Spencer.
The industrial gas producer did not specify the financial terms of the sale of this non-core asset.
Under the terms of the agreement, Gist will retain its own identity and continue to operate as an independent entity within its new reference shareholder.
Investors have warmly welcomed this deal - at least for the buyer, with M&S shares up over 2.5% this afternoon, while Linde shares are up too (+0.8%).
