AstraZeneca: collaboration with US group Eko
(CercleFinance.com) - Eko, a US manufacturer of next-generation stethoscopes, announced on Tuesday that it will collaborate with AstraZeneca to develop new digital tools for the screening of cardiovascular disease and particularly heart failure.
The Californian company says that its partnership with the AstraZeneca will enable it to extend the capabilities of its technology by generating real data.
Although considered as one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide with 64 million deaths each year, heart failure is often misdiagnosed, Eko says, due to the limited number of echocardiography systems and diagnostic tests available.
