AstraZeneca: EU medicines agency backs Fasenra, Forxiga
(CercleFinance.com) - Fasenra, a pen produced by AstraZeneca for the treatment of asthma, has received a positive opinion from European health authorities for self-administration, the Anglo-Swedish drugmaker said on Monday.
The European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) also recommended a change to the marketing authorisation for Forxiga, another AstraZeneca drug, in patients with type-2 diabetes to include cardiovascular outcomes data from a Phase III trial, the group said.
The AstraZeneca share is currently up 0.5% in London.
