AstraZeneca: Japan approves pill for type-1 diabetes
(CercleFinance.com) - Japan has approved AstraZeneca's oral adjunct treatment to insulin, opening up a new market for the diabetes drug, the company said on Wednesday.
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has approved Forxiga for adults with type-1 diabetes whose glucose levels are not adequately controlled with insulin alone, the drugmaker said.
Forxiga was approved by the European Commission last week. A decision from the US FDA is expected in the second half of the year.
