AstraZeneca: partnership with single-molecule pioneer
(CercleFinance.com) - AstraZeneca has teamed up with Dutch molecule instrumentation company Lumicks and the University of Cambridge to form a center that will investigate the causes of diseases and drug optimisation through single-molecule analysis.
At this Cambridge-based center of excellence, AstraZeneca will be the first pharmaceutical company to use the C-Trap technology, which enables simultaneous manipulation and visualisation of molecular interactions, the companies said.
The insights could help to understand the workings of important biomolecular processes, especially regarding the origin of diseases.
