GSK: files application for daprodustat in Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - GlaxoSmithKline announced on Wednesday that it has filed an application for marketing authorisation in Japan for daprodustat, its treatment for anemia in patients with chronic kidney failure.
This morning GSK reported that it has filed a New Drug Application (JDNA) with the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for this proline hydroxylase inhibitor, which causes the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells.
The British laboratory estimates that nearly 3.5 million Japanese suffer from anemia due to chronic kidney failure.
