GSK: positive results for long-acting HIV treatment
(CercleFinance.com) - GlaxoSmithKline's ViiV Healthcare on Wednesday reported positive phase III results for a new, long-acting, injectable HIV-treatment.
The regimen, injected once monthly, met the primary endpoint for non-inferiority, showing similar efficacy to a standard of care, daily, oral three-drug regimen after 48 weeks of treatment.
The study, which included 618 men and women living with HIV, is being conducted at research centres in Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United States.
