bp: invests 170 million dollars in Indian green fund
(CercleFinance.com) - bp has announced its intention to invest 170 million dollars in an Indian fund focusing on zero carbon and low carbon energy projects.
The Green Growth Equity Fund (GGEF), established in 2018, already includes investments from the Government of India and the UK Government. It expects to reach about 700 million dollars commitment at its final close.
"Our investment in GGEF will aim to rapidly scale-up commercially viable low carbon solutions," bp said.
The energy giant said the portfolio and scale of investments made by GGEF - in areas such as solar power, energy efficiency, and energy storage - is "extraordinary."
