BP: New CEO in 2020
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has announced that after a career spanning 40 years in the group, including nine years as CEO, Bob Dudley has decided to step down, also leaving his position on the board of directors, after the publication of the oil giant's next annual results, retiring on 31 March.
Bob Dudley will be replaced by Bernard Looney, who is currently in charge of upstream activities (exploration and production) at BP. He will join the group's board of directors on 5 February.
In addition, BP's current deputy-CEO, Lamar McKay, has agreed to take on the role of director of the group's transition, immediately. In this role, he will have to facilitate a full and orderly transfer of management functions.
