BP: approves second phase plan at Oman gas field
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has approved the second development phase at the giant Khazzan gas field in Oman, the British oil company said on Monday.
The final investment decision - made with local partner Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production - follows the successful start-up of the project's first phase in September 2017.
The field, which started production ahead of schedule and below its budget, is now producing at design capacity of around 1 billion cubic feet of gas per day and around 35,000 barrels per day of condensate, BP said.
BP is now looking forward to further developing this gas field, which is expected to support Oman's energy needs for many decades to come.
