BP: invests in US electric vehicle startup FreeWire
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has invested 5 million dollars in FreeWire, a San Francisco-based startup that makes mobile electric vehicle (EV) rapid charging systems, to provide charging services at its gas stations.
The British oil major plans to roll out FreeWire's Mobi Charger units for use at certain BP retail sites in the UK and Europe during 2018.
In a press release, BP said electric charging will "undoubtedly become an important part" of its business.
