BP: starts production at giant gas field in Oman.
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has announced the start of production on the giant gas field in Khazzan, at the Sultanate of Oman, which is operated by the oil company in partnership with Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production.
Bob Dudley, CEO of the British oil group, said it was its sixth, and biggest project start since the beginning of the year, and that this field has “the potential to produce gas for Oman for decades to come.”
In all, BP plans to launch seven major upstream projects in 2017, which will make a significant contribution to the goal of additional 800,000 barrels of oil equivalent production per day by 2020.
