Michelin: supporting industrial scale recycling
(CercleFinance.com) - Michelin yesterday announced its support for the creation of a joint venture between Scandinavian Enviro Systems and Antin Infrastructure Partners, a structure that will become the world's first industrial-scale tyre-recycling group.
The joint venture will leverage Enviro's proprietary and patented technology for extracting carbon black and pyrolysis oil from scrap tires, Michelin's leadership as a sustainable tyre manufacturer and Antin's expertise in sustainable infrastructure development.
The joint venture has entered into a multi-year supply agreement with Michelin for the first plants. The agreement with Michelin includes a supply of regenerated carbon black and pyrolysis oil from the tyres.
