bioMérieux: strategic collaboration in sequencing
(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux announces a strategic collaboration with Bioaster, the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) and the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) in the field of sequencing-based microbiological diagnostics.
The main objective of this collaboration is to evaluate the capacity of third-generation sequencing technology to become a new diagnostic tool for bacteremia, to rapidly identify bacteria and predict genetic resistance.
Conducted in collaboration with the UTC on blood samples and LHC data, the project will also lead to the development and validation of an innovative micro-device to sort, purify and enrich bacteria from human blood cultures prior to sequencing analysis, bioMérieux hopes.
