Valeo: again first patent depositor in France
(CercleFinance.com) - For the second consecutive year, Valeo is the leading patentee in France, with 1,100 registrations in 2017 after 994 the previous year, according to the list compiled by the National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI).
This arrival at the top of the INPI ranking illustrates the importance of innovation in the group's strategy - particularly in the area of reducing CO2 emissions and intuitive driving, the French automotive supplier said.
Valeo indicates that again in 2017, it was the first French applicant at the European Patent Office (EPO), with 770 registrations, which places it in the top 20 for the first time.
For the record, Valeo's R&D effort reached nearly 1.9 billion euros last year, representing almost 12% of sales.
