Neoen: contract for wind energy in Australia

(CercleFinance.com) - The French renewable energy group Neoen has announced that it has won a 14-year contract for the first 100 MW of wind power from its Goyder Renewables Zone project in a renewable energy tender from the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

The electricity will be supplied by Phase 1 of the Goyder Wind Farm, which is part of an ongoing renewable energy project under development in South Australia. Construction of this first phase is set to begin in 2022.

Under this contract, Neoen will also build and operate a battery storage unit of at least 50 MW in Canberra, the capital of Australia, in which residents of the ACT and the surrounding region will be offered the opportunity to invest.
