Suez: biggest ever contract in India
(CercleFinance.com) - Suez announced yesterday that it had won the largest contract in its history in India.
The contract, worth 700 million euros, was signed with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), the public authority in charge of managing Mumbai's drinking water and municipal wastewater.
Under the terms of the agreement, Suez will design, build and operate a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 500,000 m3 in the Worli district of Mumbai, which has a population of 2.5 million.
Suez says that for the first time in Mumbai, effluent treatment must meet the highest quality standards set by the National Green Tribunal of India for effluent disposal in water.
