Suez: ongoing discords with Veolia
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Suez reaffirmed its willingness to find a "negotiated" solution which complies with its industrial project in the context of its stockmarket arm wrestling with Veolia, which wants to take control of the group.
In a statement, Suez however said it was "perplexed" by the latest statements of its competitor, considering that these words represent a "new statement of threats".
According to market sources, on Sunday Veolia warned that it would take legal action against Suez directors who would authorise the group's sale of strategic assets.
The statement comes amid rumours of discussions to sell Suez's Australian business to Cleanaway.
Both companies' shares were pretty flat on Monday morning, up just 0.1%.
