Suez: wins big contract in Romania.
(CercleFinance.com) - Suez has announced that it has been selected by the city of Bucharest (Romania), in consortium with FCC-Aqualia, to proceed with the modernisation of the wastewater treatment plant and the construction of an energy treatment and recovery plant for sludge in Glina, in the south-east of the capital.
This contract is worth 111 million euros for the consortium, 45 million euros of which is for Suez.
In detail, the wastewater treatment plant of Glina will be rehabilitated and expanded by FCC-Aqualia in order to provide sanitation services for an equivalent of 2.4 million inhabitants. The sludge will be transported to the future energy treatment and recovery plant, built by Suez, with a daily processing capacity of 173 tonnes of dry matter.
Due to take 28 months, the construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.
