Getlink: 2% increase in truck transport in September
(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink indicates that its Shuttle Freight transported 131,985 trucks in September 2020, up 2% year-on-year, while its passenger shuttles transported 127,623 passenger vehicles, a fall of 46%.
The French operator of the Channel Tunnel underlines that this period was marked by the re-imposition on 15 August of the quarantine measures in the UK for travellers from certain countries, including France, which resulted in early returns as well as travel postponements.
Since 1 January, more than 1.03 million trucks and more than 1.8 million passenger vehicles crossed the Channel on the group's shuttles, down 13% and 43% respectively compared to the first nine months of last year.
