Eurotunnel: passenger shuttle traffic down 9% in April
(CercleFinance.com) - Eurotunnel has announced that passenger shuttle traffic fell by 9% y-o-y in April, with 221,654 vehicles transported, having suffered from general economic conditions in France and an unfavourable calendar effect relating to the Easter weekend.
However, Le Shuttle Freight recorded traffic that was up 4% y-o-y in April 2018, with 135,341 trucks transported, thus representing the second best month of April in its history.
Since 1 January, nearly 720,000 passenger cars have crossed the channel on board shuttles, a figure that is stable number year-on-year, with truck traffic having increased by 4% with nearly 560,000 trucks transported.
