Getlink: passenger traffic jumps in March
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday morning Getlink reported 181,651 passenger cars transported in March, up 14% year-on-year.
This is all the more remarkable as the weather conditions were poor at the start of the month, although the company benefited from a favourable calendar effect, with travel over the Easter weekend in March this year (vs. April in 2017).
As a result, the Channel Tunnel operator has recorded a 4% increase in the number of passenger cars transported since 1 January compared to 498,015 vehicles transported in January-March 2017.
423,851 trucks were transported, up 3% year-on-year, despite a decline in the same proportions in March to 146,292 vehicles.
