Eurotunnel: record month of May for shuttle freight.
(CercleFinance.com) - Eurotunnel boasts the best month of May in its history for Shuttle Freight, with 141,646 trucks having used the tunnel, up 3% y-o-y.
On 8 June, the group set a new all-time daily record, with 3,822 trucks.
However, passenger shuttle traffic under the Channel fell by 4% compared with May 2016, with 212,930 vehicles transported, penalised by an unfavourable electoral calendar in France.
Since 1 January, truck traffic has slipped 1% to 681,763 trucks, due to the very difficult weather conditions at the beginning of the year, as well as passenger shuttle traffic with nearly 935,000 vehicles.
