Rexel: transformation and agreement with Siemens in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - So as to accelerate the transformation of its business in Germany, Rexel today announces that it is focusing on its profitable industrial business and signing an agreement with Siemens for joint initiatives in the industrial end-market.
The group initiated discussions today with the works council to refocus its Germany activities Measures considered include the closure of 17 sales offices, the streamlining of the logistics organisation and a number of layoffs.
The agreement includes Rexel Industrial Solutions GmbH, the newly-created incubator, becoming a member of the global user organisation Mindsphere world, with renewed collaboration in additive manufacture, while Rexel will support the principles of the “Charter of Trust” cybersecurity initiative initiated by Siemens.
