EDF: sells stake in Alpiq
(CercleFinance.com) - After obtaining the required authorisations, EDF, EBM (Coopérative Elektra Birseck) and EOS (EOS Holding SA) announce that they have signed an agreement concerning EDF's sale of its stake in the Swiss energy company Alpiq to EBM and EOS (half each).
This transaction values EDF's in Alpiq (25.04% of the capital and voting rights) at approximately 489 million Swiss francs (approximately 436 million euros), on the basis of a purchase price of 70 Swiss francs per Alpiq share.
The acquisition contract includes mechanisms relating to possible price supplements. The transaction's execution remains subject to authorisation from the competition authority, which could be obtained by the end of June 2019.
