EDF: wins solar project in New York State
(CercleFinance.com) - EDF Renouvelables in North America announces that the Morris Ridge photovoltaic project, which has an installed capacity of 212 MWP/170 MWac has been awarded a long-term contract by the NYSERDA public benefit corporation in New York State.
The future solar power plant, which will stretch out over nearly 400 hectares, is expected to produce clean electricity by the end of 2022. The electricity generated at full capacity will provide for the annual energy requirements of approximately 39,000 households.
This project will contribute to EDF's CAP 2030 strategy which aims to double its renewable energy capacity operated worldwide, to above 50 GW net, between 2015 and 2030, the company said.
