EDF: PPA contract with Braskem in Brazil
(CercleFinance.com) - EDF Renewables has announced signing a long-term (20-year) sales contract (PPA) with Braskem, for electricity that will be produced by a new wind farm project, the construction of which will begin in 2019.
This project's 33 MW installed capacity adds to the 972 MW that is in operation or planning stages in Brazil, and will contribute to EDF's CAP 2030 ambition, which aims to double its renewable capacity in the world beyond 50 GW, between 2015 and 2030.
Located 350 km northwest of Salvador in the State of Bahia, this project is an extension of the Folha Larga 1 wind farm project (with an initial capacity of 114 MW), won at the Brazilian Federal Auction of April 2018.
