EDF: end of allocation contract with Swiss nuclear power.

(CercleFinance.com) - EDF has announced that the Swiss Nuclear Power Plant (CNP) has decided to terminate the contract granting it a share of the production of the Fessenheim power station, which is found in the department Haut-Rhin.

This contract, which was signed in 1971, will expire on 31 December 2017. It provided CNP with a supply of electricity equivalent to 15% of the production of the plant's two reactors. The financial impact of the end of this contract is insignificant for EDF.

The French electricity group points out that it was also linked to CNP by a production allocation contract for the Cattenom power station in Moselle, a contract that is not concerned by today's decision.
