EDF: electrical equipment transported to the Antilles.

(CercleFinance.com) - After the devastating hurricane Irma, which has caused enormous damage, EDF announced in a statement that 140 tonnes of emergency electrical equipment has arrived in Guadeloupe on Monday morning.

This equipment has been transported from mainland France via two wide body aircraft, an Iliouchine 76 and an Antonov 214.

These reinforcements include around fifty generators (60 Kva to 160 Kva), motor pumps and Enedis flood kits. They will be transported to the islands of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy by boat, "as soon as conditions permit".

Alongside this, a boat loaded with generators, vehicles and other electrical equipment is ready to leave from Martinique to both disaster-stricken islands. A helicopter was also sent from Guyana to help State's diagnosis of the power grids on both islands.
