EDF: EDF EN acquisition in Germany.
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday evening EDF Energies Nouvelles announced the acquisition, through its subsidiary Reetec GmbH, of the German company Off-shore Wind Solutions GmbH (OWS), which specialises in the operation and maintenance (O & M) of offshore wind farms.
Founded in 2014, OWS ensures the operation and maintenance of the offshore windfarm park of BARD Offshore I, which is found 95 kilometres from the German coast in the North Sea. This park consists of 80 wind turbines of 5 megawatts (MW per unit, for a total capacity of 400 MW).
OWS' acquisition is coupled with the renewal of the maintenance contract of the installation at sea, for a period of 10 years, with its owner, Ocean Breeze Energy, a subsidiary of UniCredit Bank Group.
