Eutelsat: Eutelsat Konnect satellite commissioned
(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat Communications announces the successful entry into service of its next-generation multi-beam satellite Eutelsat Konnect at the 7 degrees East orbital position, with its commissioning having been delayed by the Covid pandemic.
With in-orbit tests now complete, the satellite is now operational and will see its in-orbit resources gradually increase, with 80% capacity in use by the end of the year, before reaching 100% in March 2021.
"The availability of EUTELSAT KONNECT marks a major step in Eutelsat's Connectivity strategy, contributing to making 2021 a turning point in Fixed Broadband," the satellite operator said.
