Eutelsat: multi-year contract with Global Technologies
(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat Communications announces that it has entered into a multi-year C-band capacity contract with Global Technologies on its Eutelsat 10A satellite, which will provide connectivity and communications for the West African Power Pool Project (WAPP).
Established in 1999 by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the WAPP project aims at interconnecting the power grids of 14 West African countries. The telecommunications part of the project has been awarded to Global Technologies.
Jean-Paul Steinitz, CEO of GLOBAL Technologies, said: "Thanks to Eutelsat's reliable and cost effective satellite coverage of the region, GLOBAL Technologies will contribute to offer a better and cheaper access to power for millions of people".
