Alstom: hydrogen train travels 1,175 km
(CercleFinance.com) - On a journey through Germany, Alstom's Coradia iLint train covered a distance of 1,175 kilometres without refuelling, emitting only water vapour and running with remarkably low noise levels.
Alstom partnered Linde, the gas and engineering company, in this project for supply of hydrogen.
Alstom said that with this journey, we have once again demonstrated that our hydrogen trains have all the characteristics required to replace diesel trains.
In addition to the contract with LNVG for 14 Coradia iLint trains for Lower Saxony, Alstom will supply 27 Coradia iLint trains for the Frankfurt region.
