Alstom: still confident about Bombardier Transportation deal
(CercleFinance.com) - In reaction to the results unveiled last week by Bombardier Transportation, Alstom says it "remains convinced of the strong strategic rationale for the acquisition" of the Canadian rail equipment manufacturer.
"However, the quarterly announcement points to unexpected and negative developments regarding Bombardier Transportation, which is currently facing challenges," Alstom acknowledges.
Alstom therefore states that it will "take into account the consequences of these operating and financial developments in forthcoming discussions with Bombardier Inc, and will update the market as required".
