Alstom: Q1 sales down 27%

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has reported sales of 1.
5 billion euros for the first quarter 2020-21, down 27% (-25% LFL), mainly due to the impact of Covid-19, in particular on the rolling stock business.

During the period (from 1 April to 30 June 2020), the transport equipment supplier recorded 1.7 billion euros in order intake, compared to 1.6 billion euros a year earlier, representing a book-to-bill ratio of 1.1.

Alstom warns that the Covid-19 crisis is likely to have a negative impact on its financial performance over FY 2020-21, "though it is not possible today to assess precisely its impact".
